When I click on 'partition', I cannot resize the blue portion because no blue portion appears and instead the message 'this partition can't be modified' appears. What should I do?

The fix for a failed Yosemite 10.10.2 installation is to slightly resize the hard disk's partition but this can't be done on a Fusion drive. What now? I can't install this update.
