how do I use my video on I movie

Dears, I am starting to use I Movie version 10.0.6 - All my video are saved on a external hard drive, to save my space on my Mac hard drive, which is only 45 G free now. The problem I have is the following. Each video I want to use through I Movie, should be automatically imported (through the fonction imported media) into the I Movie software. The consequence of doing this, and what I want to avoid, is that the movie is automatically saved on my mac hard drive. Which is basically what I dont want to do. I have about 100 G of movie on my external hard drive and I don't know how to use them, through I Movie, if I have to import them all on my hard drive mac.

Probably something I am not doing well, so thank for your help.

Thanks a lot Allen - It helped a lot. I have another question. I had for Christmas a new I phone 6. I made a back up of my old I Phone profile on my I tunes. To re-install it on the new I Phone. Now that I did it I would like to remove/delete it from my I tunes, as it took 10 G of memory. Do you know how to do this. Thanks. Fabrice

Your iPhone's backups are stored in ~/Library/Application Support/MobileSync/Backup/

Where your backups are stored

The folder where your backup data is stored depends on your computer's operating system. Make sure the backup folder is included in your data-backup routine. iTunes places the backup files in these places:

Mac: ~/Library/Application Support/MobileSync/Backup/
The "~" represents your Home folder. If you don't see Library in your Home folder, hold Option and click the Go menu.

Thanks Allen again. I found the file and deleted it. Coming back to the I Movie Library I did what you advised, but, then when I double click on the icon of I movie , it does not bring me to the library which is saved on the external disk....Should I recreate a link to it ? Thanks again. Fabrice
