Q: My iPad Mini is Locked Out

My iPad Mini is locked out, and I cannot open it because the password is in English, but the keyboard is in Russian.  Right now, I have tried too many times and it is disabled for 40 minutes.  Do any of you have an answer that could solve this problem without erasing all the data and pictures on the iPad?  That would be a great help!  Thank you all for trying!

    Hi OcelotC,

From your post I understand that your iPad is currently locked due to entering in the incorrect password too many times, due to not being able to pull up the Russian keyboard when entering the passcode.  Given that time has passed, you should be able to tap on the globe icon next to the space bar on the keyboard to change which keyboard language is shown on the device.

    Change the language

If more than one keyboard is on, you can change the language while typing with two methods:

    1. Tap the Next Keyboard Next Keyboard Key key to choose the next language. The chosen language shows on the Space bar.
    2. Touch and hold Next Keyboard Key to display a menu of the enabled keyboards.
    3. Drag to choose a new keyboard.

In iOS 6 and later, the language of the keyboard determines the language of the dictionary, if one is available for the language. To get the definition of a word, select the word and tap Define (if it's available).
