Dec 29, 2014 10:37 AM in response to themysannieby fox_m,Motion really isn't an application for playing media -- it's used for compositing new material to or for media. So, playback is very dependent on how much other stuff Motion has to do. For example, if you have an emitter with a birth rate in the thousands, chances are you've throttled Motion's ability to simultaneously play audio.
There is a Preference you can set that will make Motion favor audio over playing frames:
Preferences > Time
If audio sync is lost: (check) Skip video frames
And you might have to select: Limit playback speed to project frame rate
You might also have trouble if your audio is MP3. Like FCPX, audio probably should be converted to AIFF or WAV format.
