how do i hard reset my iPhone 5 when locked out and forgotten my passcode

I'm locked out of my new iPhone 5 my sister just gave me and i forgotten my passcode also since i haven't backed it up because it happend when was setting up my iPhone so it would be good if someone could tell me what i could do
