KeyChain: Failed to change phone number

Hello @ all,

I am getting really tired and annoyed by the numerous security features, which Apple introduced lately.

KeyChain, iMessage, new device, iCloud and others and randomly they seem not to be working well.

I have changed telephone numbers lately and iCloud constantly rejects to update my new number for KeyChain. I have already disabled and enabled KeyChain again as well as tried it on the Mac (10.10.1) and the iPhone (iOS 8.1.2).

Any suggestions?

Same issue on my iPhone 6. This has just worked for me

on your iphone - Setting > iCloud > Keychain

Approve with security code
on the passcode step, click 'forgot code' and then click 'reset'

follow on screen step, you will be able to update your phone number. Hope this helps

Had this issue with changing my phone number on an iPhone 5S that was authorized, you can go to Settings > iCloud > Keychain > Advanced > Change Security Code and after successfully changing the security code you can then change the phone number. I think this was a one off issue because I changed my phone number at appleid.apple.com > security tab before changing it on my devices. The number was probably verifying against that number and failed because it saw the same number.
