Using my iMac and a Numbers spreadsheet I can't enter a number like 100/10 without Numbers trying to do some sort of conversion. I select fraction for the cell but when I enter the blood pressure reading it want to convert it and I don't want that. Anyone know how I can do this?

I would use two columns (one for Systolic, and one for Diastolic). Like this:
If you think you must use a single cell, then select the column of cells (clicking the letter at the very top of the table for that column) then use the cell formatter to change the format to "Text":

It is hard to calculate monthly Systolic and Diastolic averages, or graph them, when using a single column text cell format, and a fraction.
