Welcome to the Apple Support Communities!
I understand that you are no longer receiving notifications for voicemails left for you and how frustrating that can be. It sounds to me like you have an issue with your visual voicemail. You mentioned holding the 1 key to call your voicemail, but can you access your visual voicemail from the Phone application? If not, please use the attached article for troubleshooting information.
Get help with visual voicemail on your iPhone - Apple Support
Please let me know if you are still having difficulty with voicemail notifications if your visual voicemail is working as it should.
Best regards,
Joe

Dec 26, 2014 12:32 PM in response to joe_7399by dmeone,I used to get a red dot on the voicemail icon. I'd then press the icon and it would go to voicemail. Now the red dot is gone. That wouldn't be so bad if when I pressed the voicemail icon, it would go to voicemail. The screen displays no voice mail.
