New iphone showing someone else's email?

Hi,

Just got a new iphone 6, and when choosing to restore from iCloud I'm seeing an email address that is not my own, and is not anyone I know. Seeing as iCloud had some security issues I'm a bit concerned as to why I am seeing this.

My most recent backup had an email address not ever associated with my account. I've changed my password, but it's a bit worrisome that someone else's email is showing up here.

I was able to open a previous backup under my own email address, so I have that working for now.

However I'm hoping this is not an issue where other people will be able to see my email address. I get enough spam already and I do not want Apple to hand out my email address to random iPhone users.

Please look into this issue, as I can see it could cause some pretty big security concerns.

What iCloud security issues? iCloud has not had any security breaches that I'm aware of.

If you saw someone else's email address on the device and it was already set up, then it wasn't a new device.

But here's what probably happened. You restored your iCloud backup to the device, and then it shows an email address you don't recognize, asking you to authorize the content. That means that in your previous iCloud backup, you had music, apps, or other media content associated to it that you did not purchase with your Apple ID.

What music file sharing services have you been using?

I am having same problem. I purchased a new replacement iPhone 6 yesterday from the Apple store in Grand Central Station. As soon as it was powered on it asked me for an Apple ID & Password showing an email address I have no idea who. The Genius Bar said "this was nothing to worry about" but I'm constantly being asked to perform this action several times with different Apple ID & PW's shown.

Even when I clear and type in my Apple ID and PW, I will still receive these messages.

Please help as this is concerning.
