Q: MBP running Yosemite - ReportCrash produces multiple identityservicesd crash reports per minute

I noticed that ReportCrash has been reporting a high CPU utilization. Upon looking at the reports being produced I see that indentityservicesd seems to be the culprit. Here is a snapshot of what I seen in the console. I am not sure how to proceed. Any thoughts?

thx

    Back up all data.

Triple-click anywhere in the line below on this page to select it:

    ~/Library/IdentityServices

Right-click or control-click the line and select

Services Reveal in Finder (or just Reveal)

from the contextual menu.* A folder should open with an item selected. Move the selected item to the Trash. Log out or restart the computer, empty the Trash, and test.

*If you don't see the contextual menu item, copy the selected text to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination  command-C. In the Finder, select

              Go Go to Folder...

from the menu bar and paste into the box that opens by pressing command-V. You won't see what you pasted because a line break is included. Press return.

Thank you so much! This took care of my problem. I wonder what introduced this problem.

    Hi,

I am receiving some similar messages in my console and the same symptoms.  Below is a paste form my console during the last few minutes where I encountered sluggish safari. These symptoms are not specific to safari only, but happen often in it.  Thanks for your time.

    Hello,

It seems to me that the problem you have is not the same I did.

Based on your messages I would try a couple of things:

    - Use another browser and see if you have the same problem.

    - Log in with a different account (guest) and see if that continues to occur

    - Install some form of anti-virus software, Some of the messages in your console look very suspicious

For me, things got much better when I upgraded to 10.10.2.

    Best of lucks!

    Hi,

Thanks for the tips.  I have 10.10.2 Yosemite already, and have reinstalled it a few times already.  The Drive appears to be ok from verify and repair disks, I have removed adwares from Adwaremedic, however I am still experiencing sluggishness in many of the programs. I will try and install some antivirus, but I was under the impression that iMAC has its own?
