wifi G versus N setting

Hello,

My MacBook is running PHY 802.11G. My router is an "N" router, (ASUS RT N 10+). Why is my Mac using G when it is A,B,G and N compatible? Is there a way to change the MacBook wifi adapter to use 802.11N so that I can get the best out of my router.

Thanks for your ideas and tips.

Barbara

Mike,

Thanks for the links. I tracked down the option on my router to select "N" only. My Mac and my PC Laptop are both running on 802.11N now. :-)

It will be interesting to see if there is any significant improvement in speeds and performance. I am particularly having connectivity trouble between my Mac and my Bose SoundlinkAir wireless speaker. fingers crossed!

Barbara
