How do you turn your lock screen into a clock on an iPad mini?

I'm interested in having the lock screen on my iPad mini display the time permanently for use on my night stand. I prefer a very clean, elegant design, i.e. thin, white sans-serif type on a black background, similar to the mac OS X screensaver in attached image.

I did find a clock app called "Rise", but not sure if it will stay on my lock screen permanently. All I need is time to be displayed as "always on" — nothing else. For alarms, I'll still use Siri. Conversely, if I can get the lock screen to display permanently, that may solve the problem, but my concern is that the screen will be too bright. I'm hoping the clock will be as unobtrusive as possible.

How about the beauty below. Hold your finger on one of the world clocks in the clock app and you don't need an additional app.

There are plenty of clock apps out there. Many of them allow you to turn off Autolock and control the brightness. Touch LCD is one I've used with my iPad (or iPhone in a dock.
