I forgot to add......DO NOT LET THE GEEK SQUAD TOUCH YOUR COMPUTER!!!! You stand a better chance taking it to a zoo and chucking it into the monkey cage. Call or take your computer into the nearest Apple Store or AASP for an estimate.

You've had good luck with the geek squad working on a mac laptop? I've never read anything positive about their work and wouldnt take any Apple computer to them for anything....ever.
Your ebay link doesnt work on my ipad, the window just closes when I select it. I personnaly do not buy batteries from ebay, some here do and say that they're just fine. I think that you're going to struggle to either make or have this battery replacement done for $50.
AS far as Apple doing the repair I "think" they still work on 2009's. If the Apple Store won't an AASP probably still will.....but it WILL NOT be for less than $50!
