USB 3 stopped working

Hi all,

I'm hitting a problem that I'm not able to fix; hope to find here an expert that can help me.

I have a PNY USB 3 flash drive (256 GB) that is not recognized as USB 3 on some of my machines.

I tested them on:

- my new iMac Retina 5K (OSX 10.10.1)

- my 17" MBP Late 2011 (OSX 10.7.5)

- my 13" MBA Late 2010 (OSX 10.10.1)

The USB worked until yesterday when I accidentally disconnected it without a safe ejection.

Something odd is happening!

If directly connected:

- it IS NOT recognized by my iMac and my MBP

- it IS recognized by my MBA

If connected through a USB 2 hub (with 4 USBs):

- it IS recognized by all my machines

I tried a lot of fixes:

- reboots

- reformatting

- reset pram

- reset smc

- ...

but nothing helped. Any idea on what's going on here?

Thanks in advance for any help.
