This happens a lot! The only way to undo this is using the zoom dropdown to get back to normal (150%). Very irritating bug!!
Go to Number Preferences and take a look at what your Default Zoom is set at, Daddeeoo

I see now, it is triggered by an accidental double tap on the mouse.
However another double tap will not return to normal.
And shouldn't a double tap zoom in not out?
This has to be a bug.
How do I get this problem to Apple?
Have you checked your settings for the mouse under Accessibility from System Preferences?
I have this same annoying problem. Driving me crazy. Any new news on this topic and how to stop it from happening?
