Installing mailscanner and mailwatch

Has anybody installed mailscanner and mailwatch on an osx server! I need mailwatch or something that will allow managers to get stats on how much email a users is sending and receving. The stats software that I've seen so far for amavis-new suck and it does not give us what we need.

I don't want to move the mail server onto a lunix box.

Thank for any insight.

So you would consider switching from amavisd/spamassassin to mailscanner, just to be able to use mailwatch? I think there are simpler solutions.

If it's the number/volume of mails per user/system in/out, then AWStats will do the job just fine:

For overall mail server performance related stats, mailgraph:

or amavis-stats:

Not knowing your exact needs, this is just generic input 😉

First off I think Mailscanner is by far better and the support is much better then amavisd. Apple does some crazy stuff that I'm kinda of sick of and getting support has been hard to find. This forum has been a life saver for me.

Here is what we need....mailwatch for mailscanner does this.

I need to see who and where a users is sending mail. We need to be able to sort the data. This needs to be done via a wen interface so the non techie can see.

Right now I'm leaning at getting another box that will do the scanning and tracking and still let the osx box do the rest. Keeping clamav upto date and spamassassin on an os x server is a pain.

Well I've not made up my mind, and I do appreciate the links.

I was planning on ordering a new intel xserve to help with are huge mail scanning issues. Most of the issues are related to the poor setup by apple.
I love Apple but when It's come to mail I've had nothing but trouble.
Now I was told that I need to keep track of the users, and since I know mailscanner and mailwatch can do what we need I wanted to see if this has been done.

I spoke to an Apple rep, and their mail servers is his #1 complaint. If I could find a fix to my issues i would stay with an apple mail. 😉

Thanks
