Q: OS Upgrade
I currently using 10.6.8 and running FCP Pro X version 10.0.9 on it. there is a plugin that I need to run FxFactory Pro. However, in order for me to do this I have to upgrade to FCP X 10.1.4. But in order to do that I must upgrade my OS. The last time I ran into this is when Leopard came out I was using Final Cut Express HD. I upgraded to Leopard and then I had to deinstall Leopard because Final Cut Express HD would not run along with other applications that I previously purchased. Therefore, I am very apprehensive about upgrading the OS with the fear of having to purchase new applications from apple to replace those that will no longer wait.
So my my question is, will I have to purchase new applications to replace the ones I believe will not work in 10.1.4?
Please advise

i I see the application wasn't overwritten; you just still have a version that's no longer compatible with Yosemite.
I Would go straight to 10.1.4 as you have to download anyway.
