Airplay mirroring disables WiFi connection

I have OS X 10.10.1, a MacBook Air, Apple TV, and a Time Capsule broadcasting a wifi signal. I am well within the signal of the wifi. When I choose to mirror my display to Apple TV, my WiFi signal goes blank and is disabled until I disconnect AirPlay. After disconnecting, the signal comes back immediately. I did not see this with Mavericks, only now with Yosemite and can't find anyone on here with similar issues.

MacBook Air (13-inch Mid 2013), OS X Yosemite (10.10.1), null

I tried restarting power, no change. I can use AirPlay with my iPhone, it's only my computer that disables WiFi. This makes me think that it's either Yosemite itself, or perhaps a setting that changed when I installed Yosemite. I'll be honest, when it comes to getting into the Airport Utility settings and Network Preferences, I don't know what I'm doing.
