Bubba - if ya think this through, how could it be anything BUT a BestBuy issue?

    1. product (Gift Cards) bought from their store display
    2. activated by their card reader / writer
    3. money in their cash register or ACH account

Let's assume that you will need to go into the store... kinda hard to brush you off when you are standin there in front of all their other customers

one would think. But I did go back to the best buy store. The manager ignore me as long as he could when he saw I want leaving he came over and said "nothing he could do"

    Busy, they were.

May the Force be with you...

The only Apple doc I can find is If you can't redeem your iTunes Gift Card or code - Apple Support

At BB, it may take waiting a while for things to settle down, or a call to corporate.

I refer you to the numbered list above in that case... BestBuy is an Apple Authorized Reseller

Store Group - Contact Us - Apple Support is a kind of 'last resort' after other means have failed, but still, it appears to be  BB issue.

Yea, I contacted ITUNES, they can see where I purchased them but told me it will take 48 hrs. Very frustrating since its $300.00 and I had a purchase in mind that was on sale. Now I have missed the sale

just out of curiosity, when did the 48 hour clock start ticking?

    time of purchase?

    time of contact with Apple?

I know quite a bit about ACH transactions. If it is about when funds become available to BestBuy, I can believe 48 hours from the transaction. Normally it is overnight. It CAN be instantaneous and I would be surprised if BB did not participate in that (as long as your bankcard issuer is in on it too).

BUT, this is not ABOUT funds! It is about a funky activation of a Gift Card at a store! IF Apple can handle this as you imply that they can (48 hours), they are sitting on their hands until 'they get around to it' on Monday. It is a "punch the magic twanger" process - pull up the deal, fix it on screen, punch-the-magic-twanger = done

makes one rethink the whole Gift Card bizness?

48 started from time  I contacted them. I am sure it would be a simple thing for iTunes to handled.

I Just called BB customer support, they tell me go back to the strife and talk to a GM. On my way there now. Wish me luck

Well no luck. I guess the issue isn't that best buy didn't activate they didn't activate on iTunes end. Very frustrating to say the least. iTunes is not like apple.

Apple has great customer support. iTunes only deals through email and will not fix issue over the phone. The manager at BB even tried to call

leason learned. Not sure what the lesson is yet but I'm sure it will come to me

A little perspective on the lesson to be learned? I am assuming that you bought the Gift Cards for others? Close family members, perhaps?

If I'm right, how about a Sticky Note with an IOU  for Parental Approval utilizing Family Share? Kinda leave BB & Apple out of the mix?

    best regards, amigo
