Q: how do I get iphone to sync only those books that have changed since last sync without having to manually identify the changed items

Can I get iPhone to select automatically only the books unchanged since last sync. When I ask it to sync selected books it ONLY syncs those books and deletes all others. When I ask it to sync all, it recopies all of them without skipping those that have not changed. This adds a lot of time to the sync process.
