iPod 5 will not turn on or charge or go into recovery mode

I have a cracked iPod 5 with most of the LED screen fallen off. About a day ago I was using it and it worked fine then i walked away and came back and it was just a black screen and would not turn on or anything. I have attempted to charge it but it does not make a difference. It does not get recognised when I connect it to itunes via my iMac. I can't even try to put it into recovery mode because the home button is broken/stuck, I tried downloading a program to put it into recovery mode which didnt work. My insurance or warranty has expired I have tried everything please help!! Thanks

Out of warranty replacement is $99 for 16 GB 5G and $149 for the other 5Gs

except:

If your iPod is ineligible for warranty service, it may be eligible for out-of-warranty service. For example, an iPod that fails due to accidental damage or liquid damage is ineligible for warranty service but eligible for out-of-warranty service. However, certain damage is ineligible for out-of-warranty service, including catastrophic damage, such as the device separating into multiple pieces, and inoperability caused by unauthorized modifications.
