Q: Home Sharing - How to Start Over with Same ID

My Home Sharing password is not the same as the one associated with my Apple ID and iTunes.   The password I think is correct is not working (can't turn on home sharing on Mac) and I can see my ID on other devices so know it is correct (and the same as my Apple ID).

How can I change my password for home sharing to be used with my current ID if I don't have the original HS password - essentially start over?

iMac (27-inch Mid 2010), Mac OS X (10.7.5)

    Howdy PhilP2,

    Welcome to Apple Support Communities.

It sounds like there’s an issue with the Apple ID information that you’re entering when attempting to enable Home Sharing on your iMac. Take a look at the article linked below, it’ll walk you through the process of verifying your Apple ID and provide troubleshooting suggestions that will likely resolve the issue.
