Why can't I play my videos on iPhone 6 without requiring an Internet connection?!?! This is absolutely FKSKFIEDJ absurd and apple better come up with a solution.

Seriously, how much of a stupid iinconvenience is this? Why should I require a connection to play the videos I've recorded on my phone?

Thank you for your irrelevant response.

And to clarify further, when I click on a video, the annoying loading wheel spears. When my internet is turned on, it works. When I turn it off, the video wont play.

Its because of iCloud settings in your device,

It can be tesolved by simple settings as followers:

1.Go to Settings

2.Go to iCloud settings(By clicking on your profile on top for iOS 11 and above)

3.Now click on iCloud

4.Now click on Photos

5.Select “Download and keep Originals” option (As per below screen shot)

It will download all the photos from cloud whenever you have working internet connection and you can view then offline once all the photos are downloaded

Hi

Could I ask a couple of questions please?

It would almost seem from your description that the video is not completely or correctly recorded or that it is some how corrupted. From your description it appears that with the internet connection on - you are able to stream but not play it otherwise

1. Is this just one affected video or is it happening with other videos as well?

2. Any chance you can delete and re record the video and see if that solves the problem?

Two suggestions - none easy - sorry

Restore the phone and see - it almost seems like you are missing a codec required for playing the video - and that somehow being connected to the internet it is temporarily downloading a workaround -

OR

Chat with Apple online and have them run a diagnostic on your phone remotely - see if that turns anything up

Good luck -

I have exactly the same problem, I think it's to do with iCloud, I signed up to the beta version of the new Photos app which syncs all photos and videos with iCloud. However the only videos I can access without an Internet connection are the videos I've actually recorded on my iPhone6. The previous videos that I had stored can't be accessed without an Internet connection. If I have a slow connection or I'm out of a signal area such as roaming or on an airplane then I can't access anything And I just get the loading wheel on the screen. This must be a bug that can be fixed when they release the full updated Photos app, I hope!

Why can't I play my videos on iPhone 6 without requiring an Internet connection?!?! This is absolutely FKSKFIEDJ absurd and apple better come up with a solution.
