Seems that I have paired my remote but while the light in the unit flashes nothing happens
My remote seems paired but while the unit flashes when buttons are pressed, the screen doesn't change.

Thanks for the question. If I understand correctly, the Apple TV is not responding to the remote. I would recommend that you read this article, it may be able to help you isolate or resolve the issue.
