Burn To A CD Twice?

I am new to iTunes, and apologize if this is an obvious question. I have burned one song to a CD. It worked, and I would now like to burn additional songs to the same CD. When I tried to do so, iTunes reported (correctly) that the disc is "not blank". Does that mean that songs cannot be added to a disc even if there is space enough? That is, that once burned to, even with just a single song, a disc cannot be burned to again? Thanks.

That's exactly right. iTunes does not support "multi-session" burning and once you burn a playlist (even a playlist of one song) the session is over and the disc is closed.

Even with CD-RW's that's the case although you do have the alternative of erasing the Disc (via Windows, not iTunes) and then starting over again.

Thank you both for your responses.

Chris CA asked, "Any reason you are burning only one song onto a CD?" I had been having difficulty burning (about which, please see my two posts at http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=670534&tstart=0), and in the process of finding a work-around to the problem, I tested the process with a single song. When I finally had a solution, I also had a CD with a single song on it (as it happens, "The Weight" by The Band)!

Now it is working fine, and I know to wait until I have a playlist before burning.

Thanks again.
