HI
I have Apple TV and have been trying to mirror my iPad. The wi fi is one the same channel on both TV and Ipad. When I select the control by sliding it up on the iPad I then select Apple TV and then mirroring by moving the slider. Nothing happens than it moving back to iPad.
I Have had it working once

The settings seem correct, I select the Apple TV, the tick shows, I then move the slider, it shows green but then changes immediately to the tick showing in the iPad box. As I said it did work once yesterday.
Make sure you are using the latest software on your Apple TV (v7.0.2)
It is the latest software, it was bought this week.
It can be manufactured months ago in China and software is out dated.
Check it: Settings>General>About>Apple TV Software

Try some basic troubleshooting:
(A) Try reset iPad
Hold down the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button at the same time for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears
(B) Try reset all settings
Settings>General>Reset>Reset All Settings
(C) Reset Apple TV

The reset of Apple TV seems to have done the trick. It took aboutc 15 minutes but that was time well spent. Thank you very much for giving up your time to support me
