When I attempt to do so I get a message that says, "Unreadable files" I am thinking that my SD card is not "Mac Compatible" or I may need to format the SD card to be read on a mac. So if that is the case, what do I do? and if you don't think that is the case, what should I do. HELP PLEASE! I am trying to get my grandmas slideshow picture frame full of new pictures.

Thanks. I read up on that just after I posted this. Kind of complicated TBH, on my PC I could just drag the photo's right to my SD card. Apple should look into something like that.

Yeah, well that'll work with your Mac too, so you need to find out why it doesn't. In the meantime, doing what I suggested will get the job done.

Select the photos in iPhotos in iPhoto and use the command "File > Export > Versions".
Then select a folder on your Desktop. You may need to create that folder first by clicking "New folder" in the file chooser panel.
and by all means, use the menu option - iPhoto feedback - to suggest such things. I have suggested ten things in last few days...they listen, and slowly develop stuff to help us all..

Somehow I cannot drag the file with exported photo's to the SD card with Finder 😕
It is a FAT-32 formatted SD card, which is entered in the SD card slot of my MacBook Pro.
The card has name "no name" and shows 3 folders. In none of the folders, nor in the root, I can drag or paste the folder with exported photo's
Okay, it is allright now after all;
I fumbled a bit with the secure / lock slide of the SD card and now is is allowed to transfer file.

Memory cards that are formatted FAT for PCs have a limit to the number of files that can be stored in the root directory. That's why we recommend exporting to a folder and adding the folder to the root directory. That way the only limiting factor is the capacity of the card and not the number of files.
I had dragged the file with photos to the root of the SD card, however when inserting in a SD card reader and connecting to an iPad 4, the photos could not be imported. The iPhoto app responded there were no photos to import. 😟
I will now drag the photos to the DCIM folder on the SD card and try to import those photos then.
I do not have the iPad here, so will try later this week.
