Hold down command+T on both or one while rebooting. after connecting with a firewire cable. One should show up on the other desktop. If no firewire, then Ethernet. I haven't done this in a long long time, but here's how, apparently

Good luck to you, -wireless and bluetooth are good for some things, but networking a G5 and a a new Mac Pro 2013? Nope.

You cannot share another Mac's DVD reader to Install Mac OS X itself, because the drive is lost when you do the required Restart. But many other things can be installed with Installer once Mac OS X is up and running.
