i just purchased five nights at freddys 1

I purchased Five Nights at Freddy's 1 & 2 & downloaded them to my sons ipod. Neither of them will play. They open & you can pick new game or continue, but after that it just goes blank & then back to the APPS screen? I paid $2.99 for each, but APPLE wants $29 to help me? I bought the games from them but can't get any help unless I buy it as well! Kind of upsetting honestly! Can anyone please help me?
