Q: screen went black and gave me the apple logo for about 10 seconds and gives me logo again. Please help!!!

I was running the newest update on my iphone 5c not plugged into itunes or a charger, but running off wifi(on 75%). It seemed to be running fine and gave me the apple and the status bar. It was about 25% done and the screen went off black. I clicked it on and it gave me the Apple symbol, for about 10 seconds and then blacked out again. I tried to plug it into my Windows Tablet and it will not recognize my phone, Ive tried to put it into recovery mode and also reset it (holding the lock and home button) Its been charging for about 25 mins now and its still black. someone please help

    Hi cheertate,

Welcome to the Support Communities! It sounds like you have done the right steps to try to restore your unresponsive iPhone.  Is the Windows Tablet the computer that you were syncing the iPhone with before you tried to update it?  I'm just wondering if it is compatible.

Try the steps to put the iPhone in recovery mode again using a PC with Windows 7 or 8.  If iTunes for Windows does not recognize the iPhone, I've included additional troubleshooting steps below:

    Use recovery mode

You might need to use recovery mode to restore your device in these cases:

    • iTunes doesn't recognize your device or says it's in recovery mode.
    • You see the Apple logo onscreen for several minutes with no progress bar.
    • You see the Connect to iTunes screen.

Learn what to do if you see the progress bar onscreen for several minutes.

To put your device into recovery mode, follow these steps:

    1. Turn off your device and leave it off.
    2. Plug in your device's USB cable to a computer with iTunes.
    3. Hold down the Home button on your device as you connect the USB cable. Keep holding down the Home button until you see the Connect to iTunes screen.
Screenshot showing the Connect to iTunes screen on iOS.
    4. When you see this screen, release the Home button. If you don't see this screen, try steps 1 through 3 again.

When your device is connected, iTunes will open. You'll see a message saying that iTunes has detected an iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch in recovery mode.

iTunes dialog: "iTunes has detected an iPhone in recovery mode. You must restore this iPhone before it can be used with iTunes."

Use iTunes to restore your device. Restoring in recovery mode will erase your device. If you previously synced with iTunes or iCloud, you might be able to restore from your backup.

Learn what to do if you don't see your device in iTunes for OS X, or in iTunes for Windows.

If you put your device into recovery mode by mistake, restart it. Or you can wait 15 minutes and your device will exit recovery mode by itself.
