Dec 29, 2014 1:03 PM in response to Eigdoogby OGELTHORPE,If the HDD in question is inoperative but data recovery software will allow you to salvage some/all of the data, you Will have to pay if you want that data. I know of no free software for data recovery. Backups eliminate that problem.
Have you tried Target disk mode?

This will not help if the HDD data cannot be accessed.
Ciao.

Dec 29, 2014 1:52 PM in response to OGELTHORPEby Eigdoog,Ive not tried target disk as i don't have a wire for it.
Im booted from my external HDD and can't see my internal HDD now but disk utility can but i can't do anything with it, so I'm unsure if target disk would work?
The program I'm trying now wants $90!! so something like £60. I would pay just not that much as I've done stuff like this before for free and never had to buy a program.
Can someone recommend me some programs please.
Thanks for the reply!
