Q: how to do a manual migration?
i think i am at the point where i need to call apple and pay for some tech assistance but can anyone take a look at the following:
i have a 2006 and a new 2012 mac pro. i had a "data volume" on the old machine that was essentially my HOME FOLDER and i had a "OS drive" that essentially contained my boot OS and a boot camp installation. i would like to MIGRATE my data over to the new machine and i do not believe an automated migration is going to work in this case.
is there any documentation about how i go about doing a "manual migration" from LION to YOSEMITE given such a scenario?
what i would like to do is put the home folder and all my data on the NEW machine and to put the databases on a separate volume but to not relocate the home folder in this case.
thanks for any info or leads.
