Q: Apple iPhone 4 keeps connecting and disconnecting from new Macbook Pro 13. What is supposed to be done?

I have a windows desktop in my office and my iPhone 4 works pretty fine and gets charged and gets connected to the iTunes. However, I just purchased a new Macbook Pro 13 this Nov (2014) and I can't seem to connect my iPhone. it keeps connecting and disconnecting. its very annoying. i saw similar posts and threads but there is no resolution! please help
