improve wireless headphone via bluetooth sound on imac

When I use beats wireless headphones connected via bluetooth on my imac there is poor sound quality. The sound breaks or skips every 30-40 seconds. This does not happen when connected to other devices such as a newer ipad. So I'm thinking this has to do with the wifi signal from my imac and am wondering if there is any adjustment that can be made to improve the quality of the signal. Help or insights will be appreciated. Thanks!

iMac, OS X Yosemite (10.10), (21.5-inch, Mid 2010)

I am having this problem but with my Samsung Sound Bar. I connected my sound bar to new 27 in Mac and sometimes the sound breaks or skips for a few second and then stops. It's about 10 feet away from the sound bar and in the same room. I was wondering if it was just my stuff or something else. I can connect my iPhone 6 to my sound bar and I have no problems at 10 feet or more away.
