Keyboard covers text box

In any app, including Notes, Wordpress, Notability, and Yahoo...among others....when I try to edit text, the keyboard

appears and covers the text; meaning that I can't see what I'm editing because the keyboard hovers over that text so it

cannot be seen.

This is happening on an iPad Air 1 with 8.1.2.

This is happening on an iPad 3 with 8.1.2.

Is there a fix for this?

Are others, are you, not experiencing this?

We're obviously looking to correct for this, as it makes typing and re-typing impossible and could lead us to junk these

iPads.

We really appreciate you help and/or suggestions. Just want to fix this asap.
