Trouble with wireless kit with intuos Pen & Touch and iMac with Yosemite

I got an Intuos Pen & Touch for Christmas along with a wireless kit that plugs into my iMac. I'm running Yosemite on my iMac. As far as I can see, the tablet works absolutely fine when connected to the computer with the USB cable provided, but when I try and use the wireless kit with a full battery it just isn't picking anything up.

I press the power button and it flashes a few times then goes off. Also, it tell me no tablets were found when I click on this little icon User uploaded file in the menu bar it says no tablets were found. (This is all with just the wireless kit connected). If I go to the Wacom Tablet plug in in System preferences I get this:

User uploaded file I can't work out if it's something wrong with my tablet/wireless kit or the driver or my mac itself. Bear in mind I am running the latest driver for the tablet from Wacom. Has anyone else had this problem?

I know this is an ancient forum but as it seems we here are the only people with this issue in the entire world (tried the Wacom forum... that was a waste of time; contacted Wacom, too, but had no explanation as to why this was going on, just had my wifi kit replaced), so, for what it's worth, if anyone ever comes around again with the same issue, here's my solution:

After having already returned one product and having, once again, the same issue on the second product after a month, what I decided to do was take out the battery and the wifi adapter and put them back in, in the hopes of somehow "rebooting" the system... I don't know... I even gave it the old Nintendo blow-air-into-the-contacts. Whatever it was, it was fixed by these actions.

So there you have it.

Although you should probably be looking to Wacom for support I'll offer a few thoughts. Is the "wireless kit" your talking about a USB dongle that you plug into the mac? Is that being picked up in System Profiler? Have you tried a different USB port? I know you said it's "full" but change the batteries anyway.

DId you download the driver from Wacom? Is it the Intous 6.3.10w2?

I have also posted this onto a Wacom forum but I am waiting for a response. To answer your questions: The wireless kit is the dongle, yes. I have tried the other ports including plugging it into my keyboard, which works with USB pens etc, but I've had no luck with the dongle. I did download the latest driver from Wacom and it is the one you mention. At first I thought the receiver wasn't being picked up at all but after looking a bit more, I found it:

User uploaded file

this baffles me even more, I don't understand what is going on, I'm no computer expert and it looks like I'll have to phone Wacom at this rate...

Exact same issue.

I'm using the lithium battery that came with the Wireless Kit for the Wacom Intuos Pen and Touch (small).

Plugged in the USB wireless receiver into an available USB slot.

Afterwards, pressing the button located on the top of the (fully charged) battery compartment results in the leftmost LED strip indicator on the face of the tablet flashing periodically - for about 3-4 seconds. Then nothing.

Tha tablet and pen are completely unresponsive when only the Wireless Kit is connected.

System preferences also doesn't recognise there is a tablet connected, when only the Wireless Kit is used.

Running OS X Yosemite 10.10.1 on a MacBook Air 11-inch (Early 2014).

The tablet works fine with the supplied USB cable (and the Wireless Kit disconnected) - but I shelled out a bit more because I wanted the option of going wireless.

Is the only solution to downgrade to OS X Mavericks. Really?

Anyone else with the above described issue(s)?

Not sure if this will help you, but it worked for me on both the iMac 5K and a Mac mini: Try attaching an external USB hub that allows you to bring the hub to the front of the computer and plug the Wacom dongle into it. Sometimes the Wacom tablet has a problem if the dongle is in the back of the computer (or facing away from the tablet). I had the same symptoms (flashing lights then cutting off when dongle attached and working perfectly when attached with the cord), but this was cleared up when I attached a USB hub that had a cord long enough to bring the dongle to the front of the computer. Hope this helps!
