My iPod 5 is 4 days old and it's messing up already! When I first got this ipod, it said on the box it is 16gb but when I go onto "about" in settings it is saying that the capacity is 12.7 gb but a 12.7 gb iPod 5 doesn't exist. What should I do?

16GB minus the space required for IOS = 12.7 to 12.8GB
Your phone is correct, 12.7GB free out of 16GB total.
So how come it is saying I have 6.7 gb available?

Go to Settings>General>Usage>Manage Storage and see what is using the storage.

You asked how much you should have in total 12.8Gb is average.
How come there is only 6.7Gb left is because you have put things on there already. Think of it like a purse, once it's full either take stuff out, or get a bigger purse
