Dec 30, 2014 5:35 AM in response to joan693by joan693,Thanks for trying to help. Rudegar tells me erasing does not dissassociate it and SergZak gave me a link to an article which I have read and I do not see the topic of dissassociating addressed in it. Please correct me. Thanks!

However, you cannot erase it unless you turnoff FindMyiPhone.

Dec 30, 2014 5:51 AM in response to Demoby joan693,OK, thanks. In short, I need to manually dissassociate the old iPad from my Apple account through iTunes on my pc. Then, erase and reset it for the next user. Can they associate it with their Apple account right away? I read something about 90 day wait period.
Do I have to manually dissassociate my iCloud account from my old iPad, too? I know that I need to use that account for my new iPad to restore from a backup.
Note: turned off find my iPad already.

No.
Turn off FindMyiPhone either in Settings > iCloud on the iPad or thru iCloud.com > FindMyiPhone and delete the iPad.

Then simply restore as new.
