Q: Problems connecting to printers

This is for a client's computer and I don't have it with me, so I am unable to get any more info until she is back in the office on Monday.  She has a MacBook Air with 10.6.8.  She brought it in to me last week to get printers installed.  I used her company's VPN connection to successfully add three of her office printers by IP address.  They installed with no problem.

However, when she returned to the office she was unable to print.  I was able to remote to her machine and it shows the printers but when she tries to print she receives "Unable to connect to printer."  It does this on every printer she tries.  They are different makes/models:  HP LaserJet Professional CP1020, Gestetner MP C3002 PCL 5c, and another HP (model unknown, it uses a universal print driver).  She was also unable to ping them.  We uninstalled/reinstalled the printers and I verified their IP addresses.  We also re-installed the print drivers.  We also tried the suggestion in Mac OS X: How to manually add a Windows shared printer - Apple Support.

My thoughts then went to their wi-fi, which she was connected to.  Others that use wi-fi can print without a problem but they are on Windows machines.  VPN shouldn't be needed since she's in the office (it wouldn't connect there anyway).

I've run the gauntlet of my knowledge on this and I'm not sure where to go next.  Any ideas?
