how to delete time machine backups by date

is there a way to delete all time machine backups earlier than a specified/selected date? my backup drive is getting a little crowded.

you can delete the backup for each date by deleting the dated folders. see screenshot:

never mind. I didn't realize I could browse and delete dates within finder.
