no more support for nike +

I have a 6th Generation Nano, that used to save my workout data (running mostly) and send it to Nike+ during my syncs.

Since getting iTunes 12, this no longer works.

Is this a function of iTunes, or the Nano firmware?

Anyone have any alternatives for sending workout data to Nike?

Searched numerous sites for help and found none.
