Q: Photos

Why are a lot of lot of photos shown twice in Photos in IOS 8 in collections? It seems to happens when I have synchronized my photos. I am not sure. It is not all photos, but all new photos are shown twice. This is really annoying. Is this a bug?

    Hi IBG001,

It sounds like specific images are duplicated in Photos on your iPhone 5 with iOS 8. If you previously edited images in iPhoto for iOS and then migrated those images to Photos after updating to iOS 8, the article linked below provides information that may help you resolve the issue.

Migrating from iPhoto for iOS to Photos on iOS 8 - Apple Support

    • If you applied image adjustments to photos synced to your iOS device from iTunes, a duplicate of each photo will be created in Photos with adjustments applied.

If you weren't using iPhoto for iOS, take a look at this article to verify photo syncing is setup as expected:

    Take care,

    Hi Jason,

I do not think it has anything to do with the migration. After looking more into this it seem like that in Photo view (Collections) both pictures from your photo library and from the photo stream are shown. And this will result in duplicates. This must be something Apple must change in the future version. A the moment this makes tha Photo view in Photos on IOS 8 almost useless when you import photos to iPhotos on your Mac and then sync them to your IOS devices since then a lot of photos will always be in the Photo stream at the same time as in you library.
