syberia 2 - Autosave not working

I played through to giving the girl candy, exited out of the game and when I came back Kate was just getting off the train and meeting the store owner, it didn't save?!? I've tested it over and over and the same thing keeps happening, I can't seem to save any further progress, I always restart at the same spot standing outside the train. The menu doesn't have a save button on mine, just an exit, I tried re-downloading from my Apps and still no save button - shouldn't it autosave?
