Q: How do i remove SEARCH-QUICK.COM from my Safari 8 in YOSEMITE

Hi Guys,

i  have no idea how this happened but i just found out that i have a stupid search-quick.com HOME PAGE that keeps on coming back in safari even if i take it out from the preferences panel. At the Search-Quick.com site they say to remove it to go to LIBRARY/FRAMEWORK and remove the v.framework... but when i go there, there is no V.framework, i even tried to do a search on it and nothing...

what can i do to remove this crap?

Thanks

William!

I had the same issue, started by downloading MPlayer X and then that search engine popped up as well as mackeeper and a bunch of ads.

Downloaded Adwaremedic, free service (they take optional donations), took 2 minutes to fix.

I had this problem drove me nuts! You can remove v.frameworks but its probably hiding in a different "Libraries" folder then it says on the removal instructions on the quick search page... Try looking in Macintosh/system/libraries/framework  I found it in there, removed, restarted my comp and no more of them awful popups!!

I had the same problem with my macbook air. And i've search on the internet to get rid of those pop-ups, ads, trovi search-quick and mackeeper. everybody is telling you to get rid of these things you have to download whatever app, but seriously i didn't trust this medic warfare thing or i dont know. i already got pop ups trove and mackeeper so i didn't want to add anything else on my computer. SO THE SOLUTION IS JUST CALL APPLE AND THEY WILL ASSIST YOU TO GET RID OF EVERYTHING WITHOUT REBOOTING, THEY JUST ERASE TROVI'S SEARCH QUICK AND MACKEEPER'S FOLDER. they can do it by sharing screen or bye phone DO NOT DOWNLOAD ANYTHING. i dont know if it works but there's no point of installing that if you have the solution by a phone away.

Just be sure you're actually talking to Apple. There are a lot of fake tech support companies that pretend to be Apple, and use search engine optimization tricks to get to the top of many search results. If you call one of them and give them access to your computer, that's bad news. Only contact Apple through one of the channels here:

I'm unclear on exactly what you have tried so far. I'd recommend that you try my Adware Removal Guide.

If that doesn't work, please start your own discussion, rather than replying to this old one, and include a complete description of what you're seeing and what you have done to try to remedy the problem.
