Fresh install of Yosemite forgets Caps-lock mapping to Control

Hi,

For years I've been mapping my caps-lock to control via System Preferences > Keyboard > Modifier Keys.

With this fresh install of Yosemite, I've noticed that it resets itself to defaults. It has happened 2-3 times, and I think it has something to do with hibernation/long terms of sleep thus far. In other words, I set caps-lock to be control like I normally do. Everything is fine until I, say, leave my computer asleep for half a day, then caps-lock is back to caps-lock after waking up the computer.

Anyone have a similar problem with Yosemite forgetting to set Caps lock to control (or another key for that matter)?

MacBook Pro (Retina, 13-inch, Late 2012), OS X Yosemite (10.10.1)

OK, this is resolved for me. It just took a forced restart it seems.

In other words, it would always forget the setting, until I specifically

  • Set it to control.
  • Powered off machine
  • Turned on machine
  • Now it remembered

I think this has to do with disk encryption or something like that. Other lesser techniques like repairing permissions had no effect on the problem.
