My wireless connection is flawless and fast on most sites but is very, very, very slow on others such as Apple, Google, Facebook, Yahoo. I'm using a powermac G5 dual 1.8 gig with 1 gig sdram. Takes 20-30 minutes to load Apple, Google, etc. But it works beautifully on NY Times, NPR, craigslist, BBC, etc.

For 10.5/10.6/10.7/10.8/10.9 > Network Pref Pane, highlight Wifi/Airport Interface>Advanced button>DNS tab>little + icon.

Turn on pipelining. This will allow Firefox to make simaltaneous requests to the server. Chrome has pipeling turned on. Some sites could fail to load with pipeling set on. The site will be old. See "Increase pipelining" in:

OmniWeb uses the lastest Safari framework. The open source WebKit. Other browsers like Safari and iCab use the OS version of WebKit. The OmniWeb downloaded dmg includes it's own copy of the latest WebKit.

You may want to run these "standard" fixes if the problem persists.
1) Check the amount of free space on your harddrive. You should have a several gigs free.
2) You should run disk utility
Macintosh-HD -> Applications -> Utilities -> Disk Utility
a) verify the disk
b) update your permissions.
3) Try a safe boot.
Shutdown your machine. Hold down the shift key. Poweron. Wait awhile; wait awhile while you harddrive
is being checked.
