WiFi keeps dropping connection

As soon as I upgraded to Yosemite the whole world I was living in started to fall apart! WiFi keeps dropping connection. No network is being displayed in the list. When I choose to Turn off the wifi to turn it back on, the Macbook Pro freezes that requires a hard reboot. Mail connection issues with servers. Apps keep freezing or working in abnormal fashion. Everything that seemed to work smoothly will all previous versions of OS X one issue or the other. What has happened with Yosemite release? No reliability in performing tasks. Seems that I am back to the Windows with constant Pizza horror on the display. I went through all suggestions trying to sort the WiFi issue but nothing worked!

This is not the MacBook Pro or Yosemite but devoted to the desktop workstation model.

Windows 10 Preview would probably not give you trouble.

Upgrades over prior OS may go south, especially those that had Boot Camp and upgrade to 10.10

Some general tips:

Backup options for OS X Yosemite

  • Time Machine - Learn how to backup your Mac using Time Machine.
  • Time Capsule - Learn more about backing up your data using Time Capsule.
  • iCloud - Use iCloud to backup your music, photos, calendars, etc.
  • Backup options - Learn about alternative options for backing up your Mac.

To downgrade back to OS X Mavericks from Yosemite, you absolutely must have a recent Time Machine backup made from OS X Mavericks – this is not optional using this specific technique. If you followed our preparation instructions or general good practice for system upgrades, you made a backup with Time Machine prior to updating to OS X Yosemite, so you’ll be good to go and be able to restore to the date of that last backup.

Also, create an installer so you can do a clean install - or reinstall later if needed and avoid downloading again.

Google can be your helpful friend (or Bing in my case) "How to upgrade to Yosemite"

Doing a clean install will avoid many problems - changes to the hdd partition table, issue where there is Windows partition, and of course old or incompatible software.

And, keeping your old system "as is" will be your safety net.

Thank You all for trying to help:

I have downgraded from Yosemite and the problem with wireless drop offs are still present. I am starting to accept that this is something to do with Airdrop Card going bust, but looking for second opinions.
