Q: iPhone 5 frozen on apple logo AND lock button faulty

Hi, so what has happened is that my iPhone 5 is frozen in recovery mode after my attempt at restoring it after being prompted by iTunes. I can't force shut down as my lock button stopped working some months ago so my plan is to wait for the battery to run out before I start it up again and move on. I'm getting quite impatient as I thought it would've gone flat by now but I might just need to give it more time..While I'm waiting for my phone to finally black out, does anyone have any idea on what I can do to speed this up? Or if come morning and my phone hasn't made any progress, what should I do? Thanks in advance!

It probably won't die for a day or two. You may be better off making an appointment at an Apple store and bringing in the phone in for service.

Don't put the iPhone in the freezer or anything, but cold temperatures can shorten the battery runtime a bit.  If you are "all-in" on not taking the iPhone in for service, one of the colder rooms in your home might help speed things up.

Thanks for the response - I'll wait until morning to decide and take it to the store if nothing's changed including my desperation

I thought you were trolling me for a minute.. does it really? If I can't put it in the freezer, should I just leave it where it is? I mean I'm in England and it's pretty cold in my house. Should I leave it in a room where we haven't put on the heating? I feel like that won't do much

The phone uses its battery to keep the phone warm enough to function correctly, so putting it in a cooler room will drain the battery faster.

The ideal temperatures are here: http://support.apple.com/en-us/HT201678

If you've got a room that's closer to 0C, you may find that the phone's battery runs out more quickly than it would in another room.
