My iPad 4 has been "blue screening" for a week and has now died. How do I rectify this?

My iPad 4 has been "blue screening" for a week and has now died. The battery was over 90% when it died. I tried the normal reset which didn't work. I then attempted to reset using iTunes and that didn't work either. I got the message: The iPad could not be restored. An unknown error occurred (4014). Any ideas?
