how do i load music from iTunes to mp3 player

I have a SanDisk Sansa Clip+ mp3 player which I have previously loaded with about 1700 songs from a Windows XP laptop. As I now have a Mac Air I want to be able to do the same and make new playlists and edit others. I connected the player to the Mac today and somehow managed to remove all the existing songs. I have found from a link on the SanDisk website that one can make copies of iTunes files into mp3 format and add to the player that way. However it is a very long and laborious task; surely there must be an easier way. Please help.

Thanks.

iTunes is only designed to work with Apple players. Apple leaves support for third party players up to the manufacturer of the device, do as they will. We have a Clip player and I just drag media files across to it from iTunes. Not the best solution but it is the most straight forward. A while ago I looked at Sansa's support forum and somebody had posted a script there to work with iTunes to help transfer. I never tried it so you can try it and report back if it helps.
